در 15 بهمن ماه سال 1358 نخستین انتخابات ریاست جمهوری آغاز شد و در نهایت روزهای پایانی سال 1358 مردم برای انتخاب نمایندگان خود در اولین دوره مجلس شورای اسلامی، به پای صندوق های رای رفتند.

بر اساس اصل 62 قانون اساسی جمهوری اسلامی ایران، مجلس شورای اسلامی از نمایندگان منتخب ملت كه به طور مستقیم و با رأی مخفی انتخاب می‌شوند، تشكیل می شود. دوره نمایندگی در این مجلس چهار سال تعیین شد كه انتخابات هر دوره باید پیش از پایان دوره قبل برگزار شود، به طوری كه كشور در هیچ زمان بدون مجلس نماند.

ملت ایران در انتخابات اولین دوره مجلس شورای اسلامی با حضوری میلیونی به نمایندگان منتخب خود رأی دادند. بدین ترتیب با برگزاری مرحله دوم و انتخابات میاندوره‌ای مجموعا 263 نماینده به مجلس راه یافتند.

نتیجه انتخابات اولین دوره مجلس شورای اسلامی نشان داد از نظر سنی بیشترین تعداد نمایندگان به جوانان اختصاص یافته بود و میانگین سنی حدود 30 تا 32 سال بود و كمتـرین گروه سنی را افراد بالای 70 سال تشكیل می دادند.

از نظر تحصیلات 56 نفر زیر دیپلم، 37 نفر دیپلم، 24 نفر كاردان، 66 نفر كارشناس، 32 نفر كارشناس ارشد، 26 نفر دكترا، 8 نفر متخصص و باقی دارای تحصیلات حوزوی بودند.

در هفتم خرداد 1359 حاصل انتخابات یاد شده به ثمر نشست و اولین دوره مجلس شورای اسلامی رسما افتتاح شد.

امام خمینی (ره ) در پیامی كه به این مناسبت مرقوم فرموده بودند تاكید كردند:' شما دوستان محترم، نماینده ملتی هستید كه جز به اسلام بزرگ و عدالت الهی اسلامی فكر نمی‌كند و انتخاب شما برای پیاده نمودن عدالت اسلامی است كه در طول سلطنت ظالمانه و غاصبانه رژیم شاهنشاهی از آن محروم بودند.'

به دلیل حساس بودن اوضاع سیاسی پس از انقلاب و شكل گیری نظام نوین در ایران این مجلس از حجم كاری بالایی برخودار بود. در این دوره از مجلس 625 جلسه علنی و 16 جلسه غیرعلنی برگزار شد كه حاصل آن تصویب و مطرح شدن 804 لایحه و طرح می باشد. در ضمن 31 بار بحث كابینه در دستور قرار گرفت كه طی آن 102 نفر وزیر رای اعتماد گرفتند و 12 نفر با رای عدم اعتماد مجلس، به وزارت نرسیدند.

از انتخابات اولین دوره مجلس شورای اسلامی در 24 اسفند 1358 تا نهمین دوره انتخابات كه در 12 اسفند سال 1390 برگزار شد، ملت ایران با حضور گسترده خود در پای صندوق های رای، به شرق و غرب ثابت كرد كه با گذشت بیش از سه دهه از استقرار نظام جمهوری اسلامی همیشه و در همه حال پشتیبان قاطع نظام است و توطئه های استكبارگران را آگاهانه خنثی می سازد.

به گزارش ایرنا از بیروت، 'مورا كونیللی' سفیر آمریكا در لبنان روز جمعه در دیداری كه با 'سلیمان فرنجیه' رییس جریان مسیحی المرده این كشور داشت، با ابراز نگرانی درخصوص سفر اخیر وزیر دفاع لبنان به ایران گفت: اظهارات غصن در تهران این احتمال را مطرح می كند كه ممكن است لبنان قطعنامه های 1747 و 1929 ( عدم گسترش سلاح در لبنان) را نقض كند ولی به نظر ما لازم است كه بیروت به تمامی التزامات بین المللی خویش پایبندی نشان دهد.

سفیر آمریكا در لبنان بدون آنكه به كشتار مردم سوریه توسط اشرار و گروههای مسلح اشاره كند، مدعی شد: آمریكا نسبت به ادامه كشتار مردم سوریه نگران است؛ مخصوصا درگیری های شدیدی كه در شهر حمص صورت پذیرفته است.

كونیللی ادامه داد: مقامات آمریكا نگرانند كه حوادث جاری در سوریه به بی ثباتی در لبنان بیانجامد.

در همین راستا، روزنامه 'الجمهوریه' چاپ لبنان در شماره روز جمعه خود از تماس های سریالی كونیللی با مسئولان و مقامات مختلف لبنانی خبر داد و نوشت: سفیر آمریكا در لبنان قرار است كه با 'جبران باسیل' وزیر نیروی این كشور دیدار داشته باشد كه بر اساس اطلاعات به دست آمده گفت وگوی آنها در خصوص صادرات برق ایران به لبنان با وجود تحریم های گسترده مالی و اقتصادی علیه شركت های ایرانی، خواهد بود.

از دیگر سو روزنامه 'الاخبار' چاپ لبنان نیز در شماره روز جمعه خود طی گزارشی با اشاره به تداوم جنجال افكنی های آمریكا بر ضد ایران، نوشت: 'مارك والاس' مدیر اجرایی جمعیت 'اتحاد بر علیه ایران ' (UANI) نامه ای به 'ریاض سلامه' رییس بانك مركزی لبنان فرستاده و در آن از وی خواسته است كه بانك های لبنانی هیچ گونه تبانی با حزب الله نداشته باشند تا تهران نتواند به این شكل تحریم های بین المللی را دور بزند.

به گزارش گروه اقتصادی ایرنا به نقل از پایگاه خبری بلومبرگ، آفت زده بودن ذرت های تولیدی هند و افزایش نرخ برابری روپیه منجر به كاهش صادرات هند شد .

براساس پیش بینی ها در ماه نوامبر (آبان) ، میزان فروش ذرت هند در سال زراعی جاری كه از اول اكتبر (9 مهر) آغاز می شود، باید به سه میلیون تن برسد.

'پراوین دانگر' رییس اتحادیه حبوبات و غلات هند با بیان اینكه میزان فروش ذرت سال زراعی 2011-2010 هند 2.5 میلیون تن بود ، گفت : صادرات ذرت هند در سال زراعی جاری حدود 1.1 تا 1.2 میلیون تن خواهد بود.

'نووین زوان هونگ' رییس بخش گیاه پزشكی وزارت كشاورزی و توسعه روستایی ویتنام اظهار داشت: ویتنام كه پس از اندونزی و مالزی سومین خریدار بزرگ ذرت از هند محسوب می شود، ممكن است واردات خود از این كشور را كاهش دهد.

وی افزود:ما به محموله های آلوده به آفت اجازه ورود به كشورمان را ندادیم و اگر هند به صادرات این گونه محموله ها ادامه دهد، ناچار به منع واردات ذرت از این كشور هستیم.

همچنین افزایش نرخ برابری روپیه هند در برابر دلار آمریكا موجب گران تر شدن صادرات این كشورذرت شده است.

بهای ذرت برای تحویل در ماه مه (اردیبهشت) روز چهارشنبه در بازار شیكاگو 2/0 درصد كاهش یافت و به 5625/6 دلار در هر بوشل رسید.

به گزارش ایرنا، علی اصغر سلطانیه در گفت وگو با كانال تلویزیونی انگلیسی زبان 'راشاتودی' روسیه در پاسخ به پرسشی درباره اجازه نیافتن هیات آژانس برای بازدید از پایگاه نظامی پارچین، اظهار داشت: هدف اصلی ماموریت این هیات در تهران و نشست با مسوولان ایرانی، بحث در خصوص ماهیت و چارچوب همكاری های آینده ایران و آژانس بود.

وی با اشاره به اینكه مراكز نظامی در همه كشورهای جهان مقررات خاصی دارند كه آژانس باید از آن پیروی كند، تاكید كرد: ایران به هیچكس اجازه بازدید از تاسیسات نظامی خود از جمله 'پارجین' را نمی دهد.

نماینده دایم ایران در آژانس با بیان اینكه 'ما باید چارچوب و مرجعی برای فهم اینكه آنان درپی چه هستند، داشته باشیم'، اظهار داشت: بایستی مطمئن شویم كه تجربه های تلخ قبلی تكرار نخواهد شد و آنان هر روز دنبال دسترسی های جدید نخواهند بود.

سلطانیه همه اتهامات و ادعاهای مربوط به فعالیت های هسته ای ایران را رد كرد و گفت: تمامی موارد اتهامات و ادعاها اشتباه است.

وی تشریح كرد: هفته گذشته به هیات اعزامی پیشنهاد كردیم از سایت دیگری كه در گزارش مدیركل آژانس ادعای انجام آزمایش های مربوط به مواد انفجاری قوی در آن مطرح شده بود، بازدید كنند، ولی اعضای هیات به دستور مدیركل به وین بازگشتند.

سلطانیه ادامه داد: بنابراین، هیچ تردیدی نیست كه فعالیت های هسته ای ارتباطی با ساخت سلاح های اتمی ندارد.

وی همچنین نتیجه دیدار دور روزه اخیر هیات آژانس از تهران و دیدار با مقام های ایرانی را بسیار عمیق توصیف كرد.

سلطانیه با اشاره به آمادگی ایران برای ادامه مذاكرات با آژانس گفت: صرف نظر از اتهامات واهی كه موضوعی دیگر است، جمهوری اسلامی با دعوت از هیات آژانس برای سفر به تهران، یك امتیاز تاریخی بدست آورد.

وی در تبیین حسن نیت ایران در ارتباط با برنامه صلح آمیز هسته ای اظهار اشت: با وجود تمامی تحریم ها و ترور دانشمندان اتمی خود، همكاری با آژانس را ادامه داده ایم.
